The Aşiyan Museum, located in the Bebek district of Istanbul, is known as the museum version of the house where the famous Turkish poet Tevfik Fikret lived. This house, named "Aşiyan" by Tevfik Fikret, is situated in a famous location with a view of the Bosphorus.

The Aşiyan House was built according to Tevfik Fikret's plans and completed in 1906. Tevfik Fikret lived in this house, located on the campus of Robert College, where he taught Turkish until his death. After his passing, when his wife faced financial difficulties, the house began to be used as a dormitory for students attending Robert College. However, later on, the Minister of National Education, Hasan Ali Yücel, and the Mayor of Istanbul, Lütfi Kırdar, purchased the house to both preserve the memory of Tevfik Fikret and provide the city with a museum.

The house has been preserved as a museum with its original decoration and atmosphere from the time the poet lived there. The museum exhibits the belongings of Tevfik Fikret and other artists of the New Literature movement. In 1961, Tevfik Fikret's grave was moved to the garden of the museum.

The museum offers visitors insight into Tevfik Fikret's life, works, and literary legacy. The poet's furniture, personal belongings, photographs, and writings are displayed in various rooms of the house. Additionally, the museum houses sections from Tevfik Fikret's works, manuscripts, and documents related to his memories. With its location and the magnificent architectural beauty created by Tevfik Fikret himself, it is a worthy home and museum for one of the greatest names in Turkish literature. Every poetry lover should definitely visit.
